Olam reports Q3 profit hike

16 Nov 2017 --- Olam's third-quarter net profit grows 17.5 percent to US$24.1m, according to financial results posted by the agri-business giant - despite facing tough trading conditions for coffee and headwinds and pressure on cocoa businesses.The supplier says it significantly improved financial and operating performance – Q3 2017: PATMI up 17.5 percent to US$24.1 million, while operational PATMI is up 17.1 percent to US$24.0 million on strong volume growth and improved operational performance across most segments.

Naturex buys Swedish Oat Fiber, as Q3 revenues slightly decline

15 Nov 2017 --- Naturex is firming up its presence in the natural nutrition market with the acquisition of Swedish Oat Fiber, a specialized manufacturer of oat dietary fibers, oils and proteins. A Naturex spokesperson confirmed to FoodIngredientsFirst that the acquisition price is not being disclosed, however, CEO of the French-headquartered group, Olivier Rigaud, says this latest acquisition will strengthen Naturex’s position and forms part of the company’s continuing strategy for organic and external growth.

Danone reaffirms climate commitment with recognition from the Science-Based Targets Initiative

15 Nov 2017 --- Danone has confirmed that its Greenhouse Gas (GHG) reduction targets were officially approved by the Science-Based Targets initiative (SBTi) as being in line with the global measures necessary to keep global warming below 2°C. The company also announced that it is joining forces with the French government's 4/1000 international initiative on soil health, as part of its sharpened focus on supporting Regenerative Agriculture.
