Anuga 2025: Collagen elevates Youphoria Greek yogurt drink

Mandrekas wellness brand Youphoria has brought a collagen-infused drinkable Greek yogurt to the market. The move helps on-the-go consumers reach more of their health goals along with added beauty benefits, says Violetta Mandreka, chief commercial officer, at Anuga 2025. She also highlights trending Greek yogurt flavors and frozen formats on the show floor.

I'm here at Violetta, who's the chief commercial officer at Mandrecas.

So welcome, Violetta.

Thank you so much.

OK, so I see that your family's company has some really interesting innovations here today.

Can you tell us about what you're presenting a little bit and how it fits into the overall trends?

So, actually the brand Euphoria is a sub-brand of.

It's now a wellness brand, and underneath it it has products that they show innovation and expertise.

So our long history in Greek yogurt has helped us out to find innovative products and processes to serve the customers around the world and keep up with the trends.

The new product is now the collagen trend which covers.

Customers nowadays don't want, don't want just something new.

They want to benefit themselves by no artificial ingredients or just as plain as it can get, and they want to be part of this process.

So we've tried to find a way to offer them the best choice possible, and this is why we transfer the yogurt as a regular scooped yogurt in a drinkable form.

Boosted with protein, so this has 30 g of protein in the 250 mL bottle, 25 from the yogurt and 5 g from collagen.

We all know that collagen makes, especially for women, gives them a very good.

Skin or glow, so it helps a lot.

And why not drink it with the benefits of Greek yogurt?

We all know that it helps with the digestion and with the bacculus it has inside.

We've made it lactose free.

And also we don't add any sugar in, so you know it's a on the go product but very good for your whole -being and wellness.

So is this specifically for the beauty industry, would you say?

I think it covers a lot of, you know, demanding consumers out there who also want something different, but they just don't have the time.

To get specific, just the collagen, just the protein, or the Greek yogurt.

So we try to balance everything in just one bottle and I think we've we've covered a lot of needs, you know, there.

I see in this little badge behind you that you also won the Superior Taste Award.

Could you tell me about that?

What went into that?

So that was, that was, actually for the Greek, the Euphoria line for the main drinkable yogurt with high protein.

We actually launched this in 2019, way before the high protein was a trend.

So yeah, we were the first to get into the business in that way and we've expanded it with other portfolio and we got the international award for it.

And what other flavors are trending right now?

You can't beat strawberry, I guess strawberry will be always the number one, but like in terms of euphoria, we've got the peach, cherry, which is very high as , and also banana.

Ah, but depending on the market, they have, they may have different needs, so we try to specialize in each market.

I saw that you had some pistachio.

Yes, pistachio is from, fresh milk.

It's a pudding from fresh milk, so it's a dessert, but a, a more healthy choice because it's low in sugar, but still you've got the indulgence of, of eating a dessert, and, pistachio is the number one actually in our desserts line.

Is that a recent happening with the Dubai chocolate craze, or I guess for exports, yes, for Greece they're very keen in the rice pudding, the creams, and in general this kind of dessert, but pistachio is the number one now in everything and everything around the desserts line.

It's very nice.

You should try it, yeah.

So is that a recent happening?

It is, it is, it is actually, yes, it is, but as you know, it's still growing steadily, but it's, it's rising, yeah.

OK.

Do you have any other comments about what you have here today or?

We're offering a number of different options for customers.

So, besides the classic yogurt, the trend now which is high protein, and also we do frozen yogurt.

Which is, I believe an also big trend around the world, yeah.

Really, I guess something that's, that's happening now.

Yes, yes, yes, it's something new and we've actually expanded our SKUs by adding like honey and walnut with the Greek yogurt.

So this is in the form of a frozen yogurt, you know, it's a, a very nice, gives a very nice taste and very unique one.

So yeah, something new.

I feel like.

Frozen yogurt was something that became really big in the 90s.

It did, it did, and then it dropped again, and now, it's back.

The Greekness is a difference there because you can find frozen yogurt almost everywhere, but the base, which is Greek yogurt, and you also get the benefits from the Greek yogurt, as we said earlier, it's something new in the business.
