FiE 2024: Essentia Protein Solutions serves up natural soup solutions

28 Nov 2024 | Essentia Protein Solutions

Essentia Protein Solutions hosted a soup bar at FiE 2024, exemplifying it as a hub of culinary creations, where the focus was on the advantages of building a soup recipe from natural stocks and fats. The company served up its 100% authentic ingredients under the ProBase range and highlighted the resurgence of soup as a trending meal option. Charsten Vinther, business manager for the savory segment, tells us more.

Good Fres, sir, supported from FIE 2024 in Frankfurt, Germany.

We're here at the Ascenta protein Solution stand with Carson Winter, who is business manager for savory.

Welcome to you.

Thank you very much, sir.

So today you're promoting your soup solutions.

Why is soup gaining renewed popularity?

But first of all, it's important to say that Essentia is not a soup manufacturer, but we actually manufacture ingredients that are vital for soup.

Our stocks and broth products go into any soup application around the world.

Soup is of course universal and therefore we also have a wide range of products which can be used in these kinds of soups.

And what soup solutions are you showcasing today?

We're showcasing soups from around the world where we think our various ingredients fit into.

We have a broad range of products coming from bovine, porcine, chicken, and lamb over to different kinds of fish.

And of course soup is very local, very regional, where you use these different kinds of products.

So we actually go around the world and show.

Our product can be used in a soup for that particular application.

And today you're also showcasing your bone broth solution.

What trends are you tapping into here?

We're tapping into the clean label trends without a doubt.

Clean label not being just what you put on the label on the product itself, but all what's around the product.

Is it recognizable?

Does the consumer understand it?

Of course, the way it's been manufactured as is also important.

For any modern consumer and by that also our customers and the supermarkets that will promote the product in the environmental sustainability is top of mind for many consumers.

So in what ways are you tapping and enhancing health?

We're tapping straight into that because our product is basically made on the philosophy that you did for hundreds of years that you use your leftovers.

It could be the chicken carcass.

You boil it in water.

You generate the stock, which is then you add your various ingredients, your vegetables, and so on, and you have your delicious soup.

This is exactly what we do in our factories, of course, in a modern way with a lot of let's say industrial procedures, but the culinary tradition is behind our products and of course also the good taste.

That's a final question, how do you see the supermarkets evolving in coming years?

It is growing.

It is growing, and I think there's a.

Of reasons for it.

First of all, a soup is tasting good.

It's healthy for you.

It's known, but it's also today in our financial environment and the security we have around the world, it's also a way of saving a little bit of money on your weekly shopping that you can use your leftovers in your kitchen and you can make something that's delicious and actually is also healthy for you.

That's brilliant.

Thanks for your time today.

You're welcome.
