It is low in sugar & salt, and is a source of fiber. The company’s latest introduction is a range of high quality vegan proteins to meet the increased demand for plant-based protein ingredients. Carys Raper of Cambridge Commodities says: “More people are trying to incorporate plant based foods into their diet. We offer a wide range of different proteins, so we can blend these to customer requirements.”

I'm here with Carys Raper from Cambridge Commodities, and Cambridge Commodities are highlighting the launch of a plant-based vegan proteins line called Pro Earth.

Carys, can you tell me a bit about the trend towards kind of vegan proteins and how this is pretty much going mainstream as this kind of flexitarian trend takes off?

Vegan proteins were seen as a bit of a niche market, but now we're getting more people trying to incorporate more plant-based foods into their diet.

A lot of women as.

With the protein foods, so they tend to be more attracted to these plant-based alternatives and they're perceived as a bit more natural than the whey traditional whey proteins, and some people have food intolerance as.

So what is the product that you're offering and what type of proteins is it based on?

So we offer a wide range of different proteins, so we can blend these to the customer's requirements and we also have our nutritionists.

Who can help you blend them to get an optimal amino acid profile and we also work with flavoring houses so you can flavor them as and we've got all sorts of almond protein buckwheat protein as as your traditional proteins like pea protein rice protein, soy protein, and we also have black bean protein.

And those are just a few pumpkin seed proteins as.

Do you have an interesting concept you're presenting here.

Maybe you can explain a little bit about what, what, what this product contains.

And here we've got our Earth lens.

So we've had this flavored, and in it we've got almond protein, poli seed proteins, pea protein, and quinoa protein.

And so we've just, we've just used this to showcase the kind of blends that we can create for our customers.

It's really kind of mainstream kind of protein kind of concept as opposed to the traditional kind of forms which would be aimed at bodybuilders and so forth.

Yeah, we've mixed the pea protein, which is a very popular one.

It's got a mild taste with a bit more unusual proteins to give customers a chance to try more optimized kind of difference in formulation.

Yeah, thank you very much.
