On-trend packaging systems

11 Apr 2018 | Weber

Weber presented two new machine concepts at Anuga FoodTec. Jan Oertel at Weber notes: “We have a couple of customer demands. Our focus is on having a full line solution to take synchronization points out of the game and make it easier for customers to have a full line solution. We present a slicer to slice cheese, meats and sausages in proportions, buffer them, take them with the automatic solution into the thermoformer, take them close to pack and off we go.”

This is our wires at the Innuga Footech in Cologne, and I'm here with Jan Utel from Weber, and, the company is presenting two new machine concepts here at the show.

Jan, can you tell me a bit about some of the trends that are happening within the, within the sector and what your customers are demanding from suppliers such as yourself?

Yeah, of course, welcome everybody.

First of all, we are proud to exhibit our components here on the Ega in Cologne, we actually got a couple of customer demands at the moment and focus is not to have a full line solution to take.

Synchronization points out of the game and make it easier for customers to have install a full line solution.

So hence we have our concept here with the Weber 6 slicer and our thermoformer VMX to give the customer a full line system solution.

Yeah, and what do you mean by a full line solution?

What does it encompass?

So we present you the slicer 6 to slice cheese, meats, sausages into portions, buffer them, take them with automatic solution into the thermo former, and, finish the pack, close the pack, and, off you go.

What about the issue of footprinting?

How do you overcome that through some of these new solutions?

Obviously we've got a lot of big install base and a lot of customers who already got a lot of machines and their factories are most of the time full with equipment.

Space and footprint is always a requirement, so you want to see that you get as many lines into your factory as you can to get the maximum output.

So we are really focusing on getting a very small line, especially in terms of the width of the machine.

To have the opportunity to put in as many lines into the factory as possible, the entire line of the texture machine we show on our roof is only 1.4 m wide, which is exceptional, and we can get, how did we do that, due to combine things and share electronic cabinets and integrate deloading solution into the semiroma and so we can come up with a really slim.

Solution so that the customer is able to put more machines next to each other.

What can we expect to see going forward more optimization when it comes to these sort of things?

Of course we are constantly developing for our customers and I'm sure we collect a lot of demands on the show from our customers, which we put down, discussed with our engineering team, and Come and visit us on the IFA 2019 next year in Frankfurt, and we will see more some meat solutions there, some meat solutions there as.

Thank you very much.
