Entering the Flexible Pouch Space

11 Apr 2012 | Bosch

Ulrich Budeus of Bosch Packaging Technology discusses the implementation of two new filling solutions for liquid food at Anuga FoodTec 2012 in Cologne including the new SurePOUCH flexible pack style and the new thermoforming clean-fill machine, TFC. The new SurePOUCH stand-up flexible pack styles will allow for multiple packaging and fitment options for a high level of flexibility and shelf differentiation.

In Cologne.

I'm here with Ulrich Gudeus from Bosch, and Bosch are highlighting a new packaging machinery and technology that they have here.

Ulrich, what are you presenting and how can it be used?

We have right now a new technology from the machine side to To produce a very flexible pouch, the machine is very, very flexible in to build up different kinds of pouch styles, up to 4 different kinds of pouches, and it is very.

Flexible in the volume, we can produce from 100 mL up to 5 L on the same machine, and the second is that we have different kinds of pouch styles.

All of them are standable, so it's a stand up and it's also equipped with a spout, so that means you can drink or you can pour it out.

The product and that's very new on this kind of machinery.

What type of applications is it suitable for it because I see a whole load of different things that you're thinking of.

It's the main part will be in the liquid food, special for beverages, for milk, for oil, so a lot of possibilities, but also in the dry.

Section, if we have sugar, rice, salt, different kinds of applications are available.

Why would a manufacturer want to use this type of packaging?

What's the advantage really?

The advantage is, let's say it's flexible.

That means flexible.

After the pouch is empty, you can collapse the pouch, and that means you have less waste against other kinds of.

Of solutions and also the very big advantage is you have a spout application on the pouch and we seal the spout on the film.

That means we have no no spout application between the film so at the end of the day we have no leakage depends on the spout.

OK, when can we expect to see commercial applications of this?

We will have the first machine by the end of this year or the second half of this year in the market, and then we will we expect also the product in the market.

All right, thank you very much.

You're welcome.
