08 Sep 2023 --- Virtual worlds are generating spooky Halloween NPD this year, appealing to digital natives with colors beyond the traditional orange and black. Natural colors supplier GNT unveils how plant-based colors are gaining traction with today’s social media-driven youth, including tech-savvy consumers in India and Nigeria. We sit down with Maartje Hendrickx, marketing director at GNT, who describes limited-edition trends to watch out for, emerging markets for natural colors and how the company is reducing its carbon footprint while providing bright colors from food crops.
26 Apr 2023 --- Departing from its annual “color of the year” tradition, Exberry by GNT showcased three color palettes tapping into Gen Z consumers, who live and breathe everything digital. The company interviewed online influencers and worked with a UK research agency to develop the color concepts. Maartje Hendrickx, market development manager at GNT, shares the findings compiled in Issue 1 of the Color Cookbook, a new guide to inspire food developers.

As part of the company’s sustainability agenda, it has the target of elevating the color intensity of its crops in order to minimize its footprint. This breeding process takes years and involves selecting crops with the highest color density.
02 Feb 2022 --- The trend for clean label and easy to understand ingredients is pushing up the demand for plant-based and vegan-friendly colors. Natural coloring foods supplier GNT observes high demand for strawberry and cherry shades made from its carrots, radish and sweet potatoes. The company recently unveiled new shades of green based on turmeric and spirulina for various confectionery products.
