More highs for hemp: Premium CBD-infused beverage brand expands range
The functional beverage brand Good Day has releases CBD-infused Chamomile Herbal Tea and Citrus Sparkling Water
11 Nov 2019 --- US-based premium CBD-infused beverage brand Good Day has launched two new SKUs; Chamomile Herbal Tea and Citrus Sparkling Water. According to the brand, the line of premium Cannabidiol- (CBD) infused beverages is designed to keep consumers “balanced throughout every part of the day.”
The launch comes at a time where CBD ingredients are in the spotlight. The hemp CBD market totaled US$190 million in 2018 – a significant rate of growth for a category that didn’t even exist five years ago, according to The Hemp Business Journal estimates. By 2022, sales are projected to reach US$22 billion, notes the Brightfield Group, a cannabis and CBD market research firm.
The year 2018 saw huge regulatory gains for cannabis and its derived products, including hemp and CBD, with a host of US states and Canada.
Earlier this year, research from the National Restaurant Association revealed that plant-based ingredients, including cannabis and CBD ingredients were tipped to be one of the hottest overall US culinary trends of 2019.
Good Day’s flagship product Good Day’s Cold Brew Coffee, which offers “a boost of calm energy,” contains 15mg of CBD from broad-spectrum hemp extract sourced from Farm Bill-registered hemp farms in Colorado, US. The full Good Day line is free of artificial additives such as preservatives, sugar alcohols and “natural flavors” that are commonly seen in many other CBD-infused beverages on the market, notes the company.
Good Day’s newly launched CBD-infused Chamomile Herbal Tea is designed for enhanced relaxation and stress relief. With 10 calories and zero grams of sugar per can, the product’s ingredients include brewed chamomile tea, organic lemon juice, Vitamin C and extracts from organic chamomile, lemon, lemongrass and hemp.
Good Day’s CBD-infused Citrus Sparkling Water is crafted for “steady mental balance throughout the day.” Each can has 25 calories and is flavored with a blend of organic citrus juices, resulting in 6 grams of naturally-occurring sugar. The product’s ingredients include organic mandarin, grapefruit, and lime juice, Vitamin C and hemp extract.
“We are very excited to introduce our CBD-infused Chamomile Herbal Tea and Citrus Sparkling Water, which complete our initial portfolio of beverages, giving our customers the choice of different energy options throughout the day. Sticking to our minimal ingredient principle, we carefully crafted these new formulas using the cleanest ingredients available,” says Nick Miller, COO and Co-Founder of Good Day.
“Our Citrus Sparkling Water keeps your body balanced with CBD and refreshed with a tasty blend of real, organic citrus juices. Our tea combines the calming properties of both Chamomile and CBD, for ultimate relaxation, or as we like to say: the new way to close out your day,” he adds.
Good Day is available for sale on store shelves at select retailers across the US.
In July, Warner Siebert, CEO and Co-Founder of Good Day told NutritionInsight, “We experimented with a variety of different brew strengths and various amounts and types of CBD to ultimately craft our finished beverage, which we feel is a balanced blend of energy from caffeine and the calming effects of CBD. As many of our early consumers have reported, the result is a boost of energy without the jitters commonly associated with full-strength coffee.”
