The Launch of a Spar...

The Launch of a Sparkling Coconut Water

24 Oct 2016 | Thai Coconut

Thai Coconut has launched a 100% sparkling not from concentrate coconut water that is filled in a glass bottle. The product contains no preservatives, artificial flavors or added sugars and is promoted as a source of electrolytes. Jum Yukinathorn of Thai Coconut explains: “the product is very beneficial for your health as it is not from concentrate and only contains 22 calories per serving. Everything that we add is all natural.” The company’s process overcomes a unique technical challenge. “The microbiology of coconut water is higher than other soft drinks, so it is not easy to preserve it in sparkling form. Normally carbonation is possible in soda, but we created a new process for creating 100% sparkling coconut water,” she explains. The product is available in four flavors: Original, Mango & Pineapple, Pomegranate and Lemonade. The company will be launching the product in various markets towards the end of 2016.

These are our wires at the CL in Paris, and I'm here with John from Thai coconut, and the company is launching a new 100% sparkling coconut water.

Very interesting launch.

Can you tell me a little bit about this product, Jim?

It's the 100% coconut water.

It's quite a benefit for your health because it's not from concentrate.

There's only 22 calories per bottle and no preservative tips, and everything we add here is all natural.

I've never really seen a sparkling coconut water before.

Why why is that?

Why is it difficult to make a sparkling coconut water?

Actually, in the market, normally the carbonate drink like Coke, they do use the carbonate and go with the soda, but we created a new formula with the 100% coconut water.

We didn't add any soda in it, so we Invent the new process to produce the coconut water sparkling 100%.

Why is it difficult to do to make it sparkle?

Maybe the microbiology of the coconut is a bit higher than like Coke or orange juice, so it's not easy to preserve coconut water in the sparkling.

OK, very interesting.

OK, and if you have a few different flavors, which type of flavors do you have?

Anyway, today we got 4 flavor.

This year we do have original, just the coconut one and mango pineapple, pomegranate and lemonade one.

OK, and when can we expect to see it appearing on the market?

Maybe by the end of the year, maybe December or November.

OK, so in a few different markets around the world.

Very exciting.

OK, thank you very much.

Thank you.
