Argentina-based company Wakas S.A. presented their pasta concepts at this year’s SIAL tradeshow in Paris. The company uses vegetables, legumes and chia ingredients, which are native to Argentina, as inclusions in their range of high protein pasta. Juan Valenzuela also notes that the company specializes in gluten-free offerings, as more people in Latin America eat more consciously and they continue to look for products that include a minimal number of ingredients. The company is also looking to expand into the bakery sector, not only in South America, but also Europe and Central America.
