Wrigley's Extra Launches New Supermint Flavor
The introduction of Extra's new as well as improved mint flavors comes at the perfect time as almost 60 percent of total U.S. gum sales are generated from mint flavored gum.

Wrigley Jr. Company is expanding the Extra brand with the launch of its tenth flavor, sugar-free Supermint and is also introducing flavor improvements to its current Spearmint and Peppermint varieties. The introduction of Extra's new as well as improved mint flavors comes at the perfect time as almost 60 percent of total U.S. gum sales are generated from mint flavored gum.
"Extra chewers enjoy variety and this brand offers a wealth of flavors that provide long-lasting chewing enjoyment," said Paul Chibe, Vice President of U.S. Marketing. "We believe the launch of Supermint, as well as the improvements to Peppermint and Spearmint, will generate continued excitement around the Extra brand."
Extra has a history of success with mint flavors, particularly with the brand's Polar Ice flavor which launched in 2000. Today, Polar Ice is among consumers' top five flavor choices in the U.S. after seven years in market.
Supermint, which offers a smooth refreshing chewing experience, will be available at retailers nationwide in a 15-stick Plen-T-Pak at a suggested retail price of $1.09 and in a multi-pack featuring eight, five stick packs for $2.29.
