Linzbach named as new Symrise CEO
Gerold Lizbach replaces James Forman who led the company through the final stages of creation following the merger of Dragoco and Haarman & Reimer.
11/02/05 Dr. Gerold Linzbach, 48 has been named as the new CEO of flavours and fragrance giant Symrise, replacing James D. Forman on March the 1st. There will be no change in the company’s strategy, which was implemented following a re-structuring late last year.
“We have already started a major reorganization to optimize our cost structure and we will continue in this way”, spokesperson Katja Derow told FoodIngredientsFirst. “Linzbach is somebody who is very known for making quick decisions and implemented our reengineering plants we have developed. But not much will change”, Derow said.
Derow said that the company will be reporting positive results for 2004 in March, which is an early indication that the restructuring paid off. There are however no short terms plans for mergers or acquisitions.
Linzbach’s predecessor Forman is leaving the company by mutual agreement. Forman successfully led the company through its final phase of integration following its creation by the 2002 merger of the companies Dragoco and Haarman & Reimer.
Linzbach said in a statement that Symrise has the potential to become one of the top three global players on the flavours and fragrances market. The new CEO said that the company needs to expand its global business and further strengthen its relationship with clients.
