Kirin plans sale of “third category” beer
The beer-like sparkling alcoholic beverage would be available from early April.
09/02/05 Japan, Kirin Brewery Co said that it will start selling in April, a beer-like sparkling alcoholic beverage, becoming the third among Japan's four biggest beer brewers to enter the so-called "third category" of the beer market.
Two of Kirin's three rivals, Suntory Ltd and Sapporo Breweries Ltd, an arm of Sapporo Holdings Ltd, are already offering third-category drinks.
