G&J Distillers Produces First New Gins for Greenall’s in 250 Years
24 Sep 2014 --- Greenall’s The Original London Dry Gin, launches Greenall’s Sloe Gin and Greenall’s Wild Berry Gin – the first new additions to the range for over 250 years. Greenall’s has been distilling fine gin since 1761 and these two new varieties are the biggest innovation in its long history.
Sinead O’Frighil of Greenall’s Gin, says: “We are extremely proud of our best-selling gin which is the No. 2 standard gin in the UK, and are delighted that after 250 years we have introduced two new additions to the Greenall’s Gin family. We have incorporated the original Greenall’s contemporary and vibrant British-inspired design to the new bottles and look forward to introducing Greenall’s Sloe Gin and Greenall’s Wild Berry to a new generation of gin lovers.”
The Master Distiller at G&J Distillers selected the traditional British flavour of sloe berries for Greenall’s Sloe Gin. Greenall’s eight unique botanicals, with their rich juniper notes and mature citrus and spice, combine with the sloes to create a warming drink perfect for autumn and winter drinking.
The inspiration for Greenall’s Wild Berry came from blackberries growing in English hedgerows, combined with ripe raspberries which were infused in award-winning Greenall’s Gin to give a vibrant, fruity taste, which is versatile and works well in cocktails.
