Exclusive Preview of Moët Hennessy's Cabernet Sauvignon from New Chinese Winery at Upcoming Charity Auction

30 Sep 2015 --- New York (PRNewswire-USNewswire) -- For the first time in North America, a 2013 vintage red wine produced at LVMH's new winery in the foothills of the Himalayas will be presented.

Grapes For Humanity Global Foundation is pleased to debut a magnum of Ao Yun 2013, Moët Hennessy Shangri-La (Deqin) Winery at an Oct. 21 dinner and auction in New York City.

"We're delighted to introduce this extraordinary product from the Himalayas to North America wine enthusiasts," said Jean-Guillaume Prats, Moët Hennessy Estates & Wines president.  "It was born in the lost paradise of Shangri-La in Tibet. As soon as we got there, it was clear that the region had the potential to rewrite the rules of quality winemaking in China"

GFH's auction and Legends Dinner II honors nine internationally renowned wine producers, whose contributions to GFH over the past 15 years have helped fund more than a dozen humanitarian projects around the world:

  Marchese Piero Antinori, Antinori
  Laurent Drouhin, Maison Joseph Drouhin
  Marchese Leonardo Frescobaldi, Frescobaldi
  Thibault Gagey, Maison Louis Jadot
His Royal Highness Prince Robert de Luxembourg, Chåteau Haut-Brion
  Pablo Alvarez-Mezquiriz, Vega Sicilia
  David Pearson, Opus One
  Jean-Guillaume Prats, Moët Hennessy, LVMH
  Frédéric Rouzaud, Louis Roederer

Legends Dinner II, which will feature a 10-course meal with vintage wines donated by each producer, offers a rare opportunity for these distinguished wine industry leaders to gather.

Dinner guests will be welcomed at Harold Pratt House and enjoy seasonal fare by Restaurant Daniel's Feast and Fêtes catering.

Proceeds from the auction, which will be directed by Bonhams Auction House, will fund three projects: Children of Viet Nam, Lavalla School and Orphanage in Cambodia and the Albert Schweitzer Hospital.
