Corbion Appoints Sven Thormählen as Chief Technology Officer (CTO)
09 Dec 2013 --- Corbion has announced that Sven Thormählen will join as Chief Technology Officer, effective 1 April 2014. As Chief Technology Officer, Sven Thormählen assumes responsibility for the global R&D organization.
He will be responsible for driving Corbion’s innovation and technology agenda to enable the business development opportunities to continue the company's growth journey. Sven will be nominated for appointment as a member of the Board of Management at the Corbion annual shareholders meeting scheduled for 12 May 2014.
Sven Thormählen holds a Ph.D. in Synthetic Organic Chemistry from the University of Hamburg. Previously, he was Executive Vice President R&D and executive board member of the Danone Group based in France, Senior Vice President Research and Development at L'Oréal based in the United States and he held several R&D leadership positions at Beiersdorf in Germany and the United States.
Currently, Sven is Chief Executive Officer, at MucoVax GmbH , a privately owned specialty medical products company in Hamburg, Germany. In addition, he serves on the Board of Accera Inc. and on various research committees. Sven Thormählen is of German nationality.
