Smoke flavors to satisfy broad global tastes

Earlier this year, Gold Coast Ingredients (GCI) developed a new variety of customized and environmentally friendly Smoke Type Flavors that are free from by-products of combustion. The company's Smoke Type Flavors can be made organic certified, natural, non-GMO, water-soluble, oil-soluble, and are available in powder and liquid forms. “New flavor profiles include Hickory Smoke, Mesquite Smoke, Applewood Smoke, Oakwood Smoke, Cherrywood Smoke, and Cedarwood,” Erik Sgro tells FoodIngredientsFirst at HiE, Frankfurt last month. “These smoke type flavors can be used in food and beverage applications including sauces, marinades, seasonings, meat, poultry, seafood, vegetarian proteins, coffee and confectionery,” he adds.
