“We have a record crop, I believe, this year in the US,” says Bob Parker, President and CEO of the National Peanut Board. “The tally is not quite in, but it’s almost complete and we have a very high-quality crop to go with the large volume.” In terms of exports, Parker believes that the US product certainly has the quality to suit the European market and the National Peanut Board hopes to have the opportunity to export peanuts to Europe in a large quantity. The largest export markets for US peanuts have traditionally been Canada and Mexico, with China also a large buyer of US peanuts in recent years.
