Allulose expands offerings for health-conscious US consumers

Expansion Into Supplying Microalgae Based Ingredients
06 Jan 2017 --- Abigail Dillon of Univar says: “We just started with TerraVia – they are predominantly present in the US right now, but we are hoping to branch out in different regions in EMEA.” The company presented the concept for an egg free vegan gluten free oatmeal cookie that uses the lipid powder and a protein enriched cheese cracker. “These ingredients have regulatory approval for use in food applications Europe and have to be labeled as ‘whole algae protein’ or ‘whole algae flour,” she says.
