The Sweet Flavor of New Product Innovation
As well as showcasing hundreds of trend-setting prepared foods from around the world, Innova will demonstrate the key innovations driving packaging and food technology today and what these advances will mean for the new products of the future.
15/06/06 The Innova Database (www.innova-food.com), the new products information supplier, is joining with the Institute of Food Technologists once again to present Taste The Trend in a spacious pavilion, where visitors to the Food Expo in Orlando will be able to discover the trends of the future.
As well as showcasing hundreds of trend-setting prepared foods from around the world, Innova will demonstrate the key innovations driving packaging and food technology today and what these advances will mean for the new products of the future. Tetra-Pak are now for example fusing cartons with bottles, while the biodegradable material PLA is being seriously mulled over as an alternative to PET as raw material prices escalate. Meanwhile ultra-convenience and dosage options are some of the key trends driving development in 2006? What does this mean for new product development and the presentation of innovative concepts? Taste The Trend will reveal all.
The Taste The Trend pavilion will be divided into three segments: Packaging and Technology, Flavors and Consumer Insights. These three key topics to product innovation and development will contain extensive data and product examples, helping you in your product development or for that matter in positioning and marketing your ingredient. Each segment will contain four exciting presentations on issues dominating food and beverage product development today.

“In just the last few months we have seen inspired development to keep up with trends such as the need for multiple convenience and further expansion of dosage options to either meet government targets or dieting needs, such as the 100 calorie packs,” says LuAnn Williams, Senior Analyst at Innova. “Taste The Trend will provide visitors with a detailed overview of the key trends that are shaping new product development, as well as numerous examples of the trends at work in recent and upcoming new product launches,” she notes.
Last year’s Taste The Trend pavilion at the IFT in New Orleans was a resounding success, with 96% of visitors noting that they had learned something new. Anybody who needs to be up to date with innovation in the industry cannot afford to miss Taste The Trend this time around.
