Oct 13 2011 --- Synergy Flavors has announced its acquisition of Sethness Greenleaf. With over 120 years of history at Sethness Greenleaf, the purchase strengthens Synergy’s offerings to several key markets. The purchase also allows for the legacy built at Sethness Greenleaf to continue in the Chicago area.
“This acquisition provides additional scale to Synergy in important Beverage, Dairy and Bakery markets,” comments Roderick W. Sowders, President and CEO of Synergy Flavors. “Sethness Greenleaf has an excellent reputation in the marketplace which has been built over 120 years and we are excited to have them as a part of Synergy. Additionally, we feel that Synergy’s broader product offerings will bring additional value to Sethness Greenleaf’s strong customer base.”
“I have been very proud to have been affiliated with Sethness Greenleaf for over 40 years,” comments Patrick Kearney, former Owner and President. “When I decided it was time for me to pursue other interests, I wanted to find a buyer for this business that would continue to support the company’s growth in the future, and allow it to remain in the Chicago area. I am confident I have found the best fit for the company and our employees in Synergy.”
The acquisition of Sethness Greenleaf follows Synergy’s acquisition of Sensus, which was completed on September 21 and announced separately. The acquisition of Sensus follows Synergy’s acquisition of Vanlab, where direct access to vanilla bean growers is the key to development of high quality extracts. Sensus also works closely with growers to manage the quality of its horticultural raw materials, in order to deliver the highest quality essences and extracts, while optimizing the health benefit attributes of each product. Synergy is already well-known as a supplier of innovative flavors for beverage, bakery, confectionary, dairy, and nutritional products. Business operations for Sensus will remain in Hamilton, Ohio.
