Saint Arnold Brewing Company introduces Saint Arnold Divine Reserve
The unique brand, which will feature small batches of a variety of beer styles under the Divine Reserve label, will hit shelves just in time for enjoyment during the holidays.
25/10/05 Saint Arnold Brewing Company, the oldest microbrewery in Texas, is preparing to ship its newest creation, Saint Arnold Divine Reserve. The unique brand, which will feature small batches of a variety of beer styles under the Divine Reserve label, will hit shelves just in time for enjoyment during the holidays.
Saint Arnold Divine Reserve is a significant departure from beverage marketing tradition. It is among the first -- if not the only -- beer brand to ever market multiple styles under the same label. Each new batch, with the batch number appearing on the neck label, will be introduced after supplies of the previous batch are exhausted.
"There will be four ways to find out what style of beer is in the bottle: through word of mouth, the Saint Arnold's Army Newsletter, our Web site or buy some and taste it," said Brock Wagner, founder and CEO of Saint Arnold Brewing Company. "While most breweries make beer for the lowest common denominator, we are going the other direction and brewing Divine Reserve for people who enjoy exploring a variety of great tasting beer."
Saint Arnold Divine Reserve No. 1 will hit store shelves in Austin, Dallas and Houston in early November. It is an American Barleywine, a style is considered among beer connoisseurs as the most sophisticated of beers. It is meant to be slowly savored similar to a fine scotch, cognac or sherry so its subtle complexity can be appreciated.
Wagner describes Saint Arnold Divine Reserve No. 1 as very hoppy with a nice big body, a hint of chocolate and rich, intense malt. It is the strongest beer ever brewed by Saint Arnold, with 9.3 percent alcohol by volume. It has an original gravity of 1.099 and final gravity of 1.027.
