New ice cream cone with plastic lid from Huhtamaki
Huhtamaki has developed a new slimmer ice cream cone sleeve for Emmi, the Swiss company producing ice cream, cheese and dairy products.
15/05/06 Emmi Schweiz AG will launch a premium ice cream range in a crispy almond wafer cone with a praline tip, a range extension to their Caffe Latte cold coffee drink family. The ice cream cones are protected and branded by Huhtamaki’s aluminium/paper sleeves and rigid transparent lids.
Huhtamaki produces aluminium/paper sleeves that compared to standard ice cream cones, are taylor-made in a premium slim design (17 degrees, sleeve length 188 mm). Rotogravure printing repeats the stylish graphics and makes the product appealing. Other important aspects in the contemporary ice cream market include the shape, size and packaging materials that make the product unique.
Transparent lid increases temptation
The premium character of Emmi’s Crema Latte, Choco Latte and Caffe Latte ice cream cones is further enhanced by a transparent polystyrene (PS) lid manufactured at Huhtamaki as well. Not only does the transparent lid allow a pleasant anticipation of what’s to come, but it also protects the creamy top of the ice cream with its curve dome. The appearance undoubtedly attracts the first-time buyer and the package functionality gives another reason to turn the ice cream buyer into a regular customer. Easy to open and perfect product protection are immensely important and Huhtamaki gives careful consideration to all of these factors.
Continued success
In March 2004, Emmi launched the Caffé Latte lifestyle drink of cold coffee. Huhtamaki’s peelable aluminium/PE lid make the coffee drink easy to open, has good puncture resistance and high barrier properties. The high quality lid design is achieved by rotogravure printing. Caffé Latte was a success from the start and has since been on the shelves in 15 European countries.
