Nestlè to Open Sixth Factory in Vietnam
16 Mar 2016 --- Nestlè is investing $70 million in a new factory in North Vietnam, its sixth factory in the country, which will focus on product innovation. The factory is located in an industrial park in he Hung Yen province of the country and will create 300 jobs by May 2017.
It is being built on 10 hectares of land and Nestlè said it is designed to minimise environmental footprint.
A ceremony took place to mark the opening of the factory, attended by a number of luminaries including the ambassador of Switzerland in Vietnam and Nestlé’s senior vice president Alfredo Fenollosa.
The factory forms part of Nestlè’s long-term plan to invest in Vietnam and aims to strength its supply chain and ensure the freshness of its products catering for the north Vietnamese.
Ganesan Ampalavanar, managing director of Nestle Vietnam, said: "This factory will be the sixth factory of the Nestlé Vietnam Group of Companies in Vietnam and the second one in Hung Yen province. The investment reflects our strong confidence in the rapid development of Vietnam economy.”

Over the past 20 years, Nestlé’s investment has increased from $24 million in 1995 to $520 million in 2016 into the country.
