Charting recent launches by the giants of the food world.
Innova chose six of the giants of the food and beverage industry and charted some of their recent launches by region. The matrix shows Nestle working with no sugar ice cream in Canada and Unilever taking its Knorr Vie product to the UK, following its launch in the Netherlands earlier this year. Danone has introduced a peach and apricot flavored whey drink to the German market, as interest in this category increases, while South Africa have seen a convenient feta cheese hit the market under the Clover brand. Coca-Cola’s Minute Maid brand introduction in the UK was followed by the launch of Froot Refresh, while Powerade Option is now available in the US as a replenishing sports drink. Kraft has introduced a “Hi-nutrition” lemon iced tea to the Philippine market, while its Post Shredded Wheat is now promoted as a whole grain product. Finally Pepsi has launched a limited edition mint cola on the Phillippines market, while Quaker Milk Chillers goes in line with a push for higher milk consumption among children, as criticism of carbonated soft drink consumption increases in some States.
