Fyffes Expands in Denmark with Lembcke Acquisition
Headquartered in Copenhagen, Lembcke employs more than 245 people. In 2005, Lembcke recorded net profit before tax of €5.8m in the financial year to 31 December 2005.
31/08/06 Fyffes plc, Europe’s leading fresh produce company has announced that it has acquired the remaining 50% of the Brdr. Lembcke A/S, the Danish fresh produce company for a consideration of €16.8 million. Fyffes had bought half of Lembcke in 1993.
Fyffes has also acquired 100% of Interbanan A/S and 100% of Valby Bananimport A/S for a total consideration of DKK45 million (€6.0 million).
Founded in 1923, Lembcke supplies the multiple retail and wholesale sectors in Denmark. Headquartered in Copenhagen, the group employs more than 245 people. In 2005, Lembcke recorded net profit before tax of €5.8m in the financial year to 31 December 2005.
