31/08/06 Sambazon, the leading global supplier of the Amazon powerfruit Açaí, has announced the completion of a proprietary manufacturing facility in Amapá, Brazil. Located in the heart of the Amazon Rainforest and on the banks of the world’s largest river, the facility solidifies Sambazon as the world’s premier and only vertically integrated manufacturer and marketer of Certified Organic, Fair Trade Açaí products.
Founded in 2000 as the first Company to bring the antioxidant rich Açaí berry from the Amazon to North America, Sambazon’s certified organic product line includes Açaí based smoothies and juices, frozen Acai smoothie packs and sorbet and Açaí supplements – capsules and pure powder scoops. Sambazon’s product line is distributed nationally at Whole Foods Markets, Wild Oats Markets and thousands of independent retailers and grocery stores including Vons, HEB, Safeway, QFC and Meijers.
