Fonterra Named Agribusiness Exporter of the Year
Fonterra has recently made significant investments in infrastructure and capabilities in order to strengthen the company’s competitive advantage in the global dairy market.
Nov 1 2010 --- Bruce Donnison, Managing Director Fonterra Ingredients Australia, said Fonterra is very pleased to receive this prestigious award as recognition of the company’s position as a leader in exporting dairy nutrition to the world.
“Today, Fonterra is the largest processor of milk in the world and is responsible for more than a third of all international dairy trade,” he said.
“In Australia, Fonterra exports more than 100,000 tonnes of dairy products from its manufacturing sites in Victoria and Tasmania, with the largest volume products being cheese, nutritional powder, skim and whole milk powder and whey.
“The Australian business plays a key role in Fonterra’s value proposition to its global customers, especially customers in the Asia Pacific region.
“Fonterra’s export performance focuses on manufacturing value-added dairy ingredients, complementing the larger export volumes originating from New Zealand,” said Mr Donnison.

“We have invested over $30 million in three of our manufacturing sites, including Darnum Park in Victoria and Spreyton and Wynyard in Tasmania to further support our export activities,” said Mr Donnison.
