Fi Europe 2025 live: California Natural Color highlights crystal color tech and grape seed extract innovations

California Natural Color is showcasing its range of natural color and ingredient solutions at Fi Europe, held in Paris, France, this week. 

Visitors to the company’s stand can explore the company’s portfolio of range of natural colors and clinically backed grape seed extract — ingredients that are positioned to elevate formulation possibilities across food, beverage, and nutraceutical categories. 

The company is also spotlighting its proprietary crystal color format, a delivery system recognized for its superior concentration and formulation efficiency.

Food Ingredients First speaks with the company’s marketing manager, Dana Osborn, about its innovations live from the show floor. 

Unique crystal technology 

“This year, the industry has been experiencing rapid reformulation due to regulation changes, and while much of Europe already uses natural colors, manufacturers attending the show export globally. Being at FiE allows us to meet directly with developers looking for vibrant natural color and to demonstrate the key advantages of our unique crystals.”

At Fi Europe, California Natural Color is showcasing its range of color solutions and proprietary crystal technology, Dana Osborn tells us more.Ideal for applications such as functional and ready-to-mix beverages, mocktails, confections, supplements, and more, the proprietary crystal color technology from California Natural Color delivers vivid natural hues along with many advantages, including: being five to ten times higher color concentration than traditional liquid pigments, and offering up to five-year shelf life with no refrigeration. It also offers supply chain savings, as its high-strength color leads to low dosages and savings in transportation and warehouse storage.

“At California Natural Color, we differentiate ourselves through a combination of proprietary technology, vertically integrated sourcing, and technical support. Our crystal format delivers high-strength natural color, with a five-year shelf life and storage at ambient temperatures. We also offer color options that are free from carriers, such as maltodextrin,” Osborn tells us. 

As a division of Gallo, California Natural Color has a vertically integrated and sustainably sourced supply chain for its grape-based colors and grape seed extracts. “We also work closely with R&D teams on color matching and application guidance, ensuring each shade performs as required across diverse processing conditions.”

At Fi Europe, visitors to California Natural Color’s stand can explore natural color solutions showcased in multiple application formats, such as beverage and confectionery items. 

Crystal color samples for in-house formulation testing are also available to evaluate performance in applications, and clinically backed grape seed extract, featured in tasting samples of Antiox, a wellness drink made with superfruits and powdered by MegaNatural-BP.
