Copper & Kings American Brandy Co. Adds Distribution in Two Markets, Launches Absinthe
02 Oct 2014 --- Louisville-based Copper & Kings American Brandy Co. has expanded distribution to two new markets through partnerships with Johnson Brothers Liquor Company and Phillips Wine and Spirits in Wisconsin and Star/Glazer’s Distributors in Memphis, Tennessee.
The craft brandy company previously worked with Glazer’s Distributors to make their products available in Indiana and Ohio and with Johnson Brothers and Phillips Wine and Spirits for distribution to Minnesota. Copper & Kings Immature Brandy and Craft Distilled Brandy are now available in seven states (IL, IN, KY, MN, OH, TN, WI).
“Johnson Bros/Phillips and Glazer’s have knocked our socks off. They are outstanding partners, personally and professionally,” said Copper & Kings owner Joe Heron. “We have no doubt that these relationships will translate to our new markets.”
The American brandy makers have also launched a new product, Absinthe Blanche, in all current markets. The small batch, double copper pot-distilled spirit has a Muscat brandy base with classic absinthe botanicals including grande wormwood, anis, fennel and hyssop together with additional signature accent botanicals and is non-chill filtered with no post-distillation infusions for color or flavor.
“Absinthe is just so much more rock n’ roll than gin,” said Heron. “An unconstrained spirit should not be inhibited completely by tradition. We do not believe in consumption rules. We encourage drinkers to enjoy our absinthe on the rocks, as a julep or other imaginative or traditional serving rituals.”

A confident, small batch American absinthe hand-crafted from double copper-pot distilled, non-chill filtered Muscat brandy with traditional botanicals together with signature accents for a rich, seductive and uncorrupted flavor with no post-distillation infusions, sugar, colorants or flavors added.
Aroma: Herbaceous, pastoral and subtle layering absinthe notes with a Muscat bouquet and spicy hints of black pepper.
Taste: Slightly restrained anis and faintly bitter with a hint of mint and typical licorice with black pepper spice. Not syrupy sweet.
Finish: Creamy with natural viscosity and black pepper and fresh licorice through the back end.
Serving suggestion: An unconstrained spirit should not be inhibited completely by tradition. Enjoy on the rocks with a citrus twist, as a julep with crushed ice and generous mint, or in classic and imaginative cocktails of choice.
