Cargill gets new Senior Vice President, CFO and Treasurer
William W. Veazey succeeds Robert L. Lumpkins, who served as chief financial officer since his election to that position in 1989.
19/09/05 Cargill has announced the election of William W. Veazey as senior vice president, chief financial officer and treasurer by the Cargill Board of Directors at its annual meeting of Sept. 13, 2005.
Veazey, 57, succeeds Robert L. Lumpkins, who served as chief financial officer since his election to that position in 1989. Lumpkins, 61, continues as Cargill vice chairman and a member of the company’s board of directors.
A 30-year veteran of the company, Veazey most recently served as corporate vice president of finance, in which he led Cargill’s controller, treasury, pension trust, insurance and various risk management activities. Prior to his election to that position in 2004, he was elected corporate vice president in 1997 and treasurer in 1995. During his career at Cargill, he served in financial leadership positions in Brazil, Europe and North America in both corporate and business unit capacities.
A native of Butte, Mont., Veazey graduated from the University of Montana in 1970 with a bachelor’s degree in economics and completed his master’s degree in business administration in finance in 1975. He is a certified public accountant.
