Cargill Animal Nutrition and Cargill AgHorizons move to University of Iowa Research Park
Cargill office staff at the UI Research Park will provide functional and management support to its Upper Midwest operations, where it has 10 feed manufacturing plants.
13/05/08 Cargill has recently relocated the regional offices and staff from two of its businesses to the University of Iowa (UI) Research Park in Coralville, Iowa. Thirty-five employees from Cargill Animal Nutrition and Cargill AgHorizons now share the new office space at 2651 Crosspark Road.
Cargill has leased 10,374 square feet on the second floor of the 20,748-square-foot professional UI Research Park building owned by Gary Bishop Construction of Iowa City.
“We are delighted to welcome Cargill to the UI Research Park,” said Thomas Sharpe, UI associate vice president for economic development, who oversees the park. “It is our hope that Cargill and its employees will find the new location on the park to be both a productive and congenial place in which to work. We look forward to establishing a long-term relationship that is mutually beneficial for the University and Cargill.”
Cargill Animal Nutrition is a customer-focused organization working to bring product and service solutions to producers, dealers and feed retailers. Cargill’s office staff at the UI Research Park will provide functional and management support to its Upper Midwest operations, where it has 10 feed manufacturing plants.
Cargill AgHorizons operates a network of grain elevator and crop input facilities across the U.S. farm belt, purchasing grain from farmers and delivering agronomic solutions focused on optimizing production. Its diverse portfolio of grain marketing offerings allows producers to reduce market risk through a a range of marketing strategies.

The UI Research Park is part of the Iowa Centers for Enterprise (ICE), which integrates existing economic development activities at UI. ICE offers a comprehensive program that promotes economic development and technology transfer, provides assistance to Iowa startups and existing Iowa businesses and communities, and helps the state of Iowa develop a creative, entrepreneurial workforce. Also, ICE optimizes the flow of university intellectual property into opportunities for licensing, commercialization and business development.
