Burnt City Brewing Releases Canned Offerings
CHICAGO — On the heels of its Lincoln Park brewpub launch and just prior to Chicago Craft Beer Week, Burnt City Brewing announces its three year-round beers, available now. The brewery cans the beers—Dick the Butcher pale ale, Face Melter hibiscus IPA, and Balloon Boy farmhouse wheat ale—in its production facility on the South Side of Chicago and also rotates canned seasonals and other special limited releases throughout the year.
“We’ve been working on this for so long, so it’s really satisfying to see the cans finally rolling off line,” Founding Brewer John Saller says. “I love our packaging—I think it really stands out on the shelf.”
Featuring black silhouettes with glowing yellow eyes on bright-colored backgrounds of green, red, and orange, the artwork for the new Burnt City cans depicts the heroes of a post-apocalyptic city in a graphic novelesque vignette, paying homage to the Great Chicago Fire. For the labels, the brewery worked with Ian Law and Adam Muran of Chicago-based design company Mighty Few.
Founding Brewer Ben Saller says, “We’ve worked with Ian and Adam before, and we knew they could take this crazy imaginary world we were envisioning and turn it into something awesome.”
