Anheuser-Busch Green Week Highlights Commitment to Environmental Excellence
One of the highlights of this year's Green Week is the dedication of Anheuser-Busch's Technology Center which was certified under the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building Rating System.
ST. LOUIS -- In celebration of Earth Day and its efforts to protect and raise awareness for the environment, Anheuser- Busch will be hosting "Green Week" events and activities at many of its facilities across the country. As part of this celebration, employees will participate in a number of environmental, health and safety activities. The theme of this year's Green Week, "Healthy Planet, Healthy People," emphasizes the important link between human health and the environment.
One of the highlights of this year's Green Week is the dedication of Anheuser-Busch's Technology Center which was certified under the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building Rating System. "The Technology Center was designed and built and is operated in an ecological and resource-efficient manner," said Doug Muhleman, group vice president of Brewing Operations and Technology, Anheuser-Busch, Inc. "In addition to being environmentally friendly, this building provides employees with a state-of- the-art work environment that is comfortable and productive, and saves money by lowering operating costs over the lifetime of the structure."
Anheuser-Busch has teamed with one of its longtime conservation partners, American Forests, to provide participating facilities with an Abe Lincoln Overcup Oak, which was grown from an Oak seed taken from the home of Abe Lincoln. Other activities and events include speakers, environmental classrooms, presentations by local environmental groups, and health and wellness sessions. Participants will also receive educational materials on a number of important environmental issues, such as energy conservation, recycling and litter prevention.

"Our company-wide Green Week is an important opportunity to educate employees about the company's environmental stewardship programs, and encourage them to get involved in similar beautification and conservation efforts at work, at home, and in the community.
