30 April 2012 --- Aker BioMarine is pleased to announce the unopposed grant of Australian Patent No. 2008231570 containing claims covering, among other things, a krill oil composition containing astaxanthin in the range from about 400 to about 2,500 mg/kg and ether phospholipids in the range of from about 3 to 10%.

The patent also contains claims covering extraction of krill oil from “a denatured krill product,” e.g. a krill meal or a powder. These claims are not limited to any specific extraction method and thus encompass both solvent and supercritical fluid extraction.
