ADM Completes Acquisition of German Chocolate Manufacturer
ADM Schokinag, headquartered in Mannheim, Germany, and one of Europe’s leading producers of industrial chocolate and cocoa powder, has manufacturing facilities in Mannheim and in Manage, Belgium.
01/06/09 Archer Daniels Midland Company (ADM) has completed the acquisition of the Schokinag-Schokolade-Industrie Herrmann GmbH & Co. KG, following approval by relevant antitrust authorities. The acquisition was announced on January 23, 2009.
ADM Schokinag, headquartered in Mannheim, Germany, and one of Europe’s leading producers of industrial chocolate and cocoa powder, has manufacturing facilities in Mannheim and in Manage, Belgium, as well as sales offices in Ludlow, England; and Bakersfield, Calif.
“This acquisition is an important step in expanding ADM’s global presence in industrial chocolate manufacturing and enables us to more fully meet our customers’ needs across the entire cocoa and chocolate value-chain,” said Scott Walker, managing director, ADM Cocoa International.
ADM Cocoa now has manufacturing capabilities to produce chocolate and cocoa products in Germany, Belgium, United Kingdom, The Netherlands, Cote d’Ivoire, Ghana, Singapore, Brazil, Canada and the United States.
