Aarhus posts strong performance as sale awaits
The company reported that four production companies in Denmark, the UK, the USA and Mexico all achieved better results in 2004 than in 2003.
The company wrote that this is considered to be due to favourable economic developments in general, compared with the previous year, but also to be the result of the companies’ strategic commitment to efficiency and core business. “All companies performed better as we sold more by volume and we made a transition towards selling more value added products as opposed to bulk ingredients”, Group CEO of Aarhus United, Erik Højsholt told FoodIngredientsFirst.
The process of United International Enterprises Ltd.’s sale of its 45.9% shareholding in Aarhus United A/S is proceeding according to plan and is still expected to be concluded by the end of March. Hojsholt would not identify any of the interested parties, although industry rumours had previously tipped Karlshamns as a player. In January Aarhus had announced that United International Enterprises Ltd. (UIE) was extending the period of the sales process. Since UIE announced that it was actively seeking to divest its shares in Aarhus United, the company said that a number of potential buyers had shown great interest in acquiring Aarhus United, and a final selection process was made.
