A clean label alternative to beta carotene

20 Feb 2020 --- Consumers are increasingly seeking clean label products with recognizable ingredient lists. In response to this, Naturex (part of Givaudan) has been expanding its VegeBrite range of plant-based colors. Nathalie Pauleau discussed the Golden Yellow variety at Fi Europe 2019, held in Paris, France. She explains that the color can help answer demands for vanilla shades in the dairy industry, as well as being suitable for use in applications from sauces and dressings to confectionery.

Botanical extractions for wide-ranging applications

20 Feb 2020 --- Made by gentle water extraction, Naturex’s infusions preserve the botanical plant’s authentic taste and help companies add the trendy “Infusion” labeling to the front of the pack. The company launched the range at FiE 2019 in Paris and also developed concepts to demonstrate how they can be used in wide-ranging applications. New concepts with plant-based extracts

16 Jun 2019 --- Naturex (now a Givaudan company) presented their Turmipure Gold solution. The ingredient is claimed to elevate turmeric to the next level by being instant water dispersible, 100 percent clean label and organic. It has a neutral taste a beautiful color, is very easy to formulate in beverages. It is also clinically proven to be more bioavailable than standard turmeric 95 percent cucruminoids at a low 300mg dose. At IFT 2019, the company presented several plant-based concepts to highlight the diversity of their portfolio and also how the taste masking properties of Givaudan’s flavors business can now be used to optimize the flavor of plant-based nutritionals.

Color options in an age of instagramability

22 Aug 2018 --- The trend for natural colors is part of a wider shift in consumer awareness about health and wellbeing and a desire for cleaner and safer food products. People now have access to more information than ever before and, as a result of demand from consumers and pressure from health interest groups, the natural ingredients space has been growing steadily for several years now. The launch of an EDTA replacer

26 Jul 2018 --- Naturex launched a new natural solution for food preservation. Called XtraBlend RN, it was unveiled as part of the company's Clean & Clear Label theme, with natural colors, fruit powders, vegetable purees and oat flour also in the spotlight. Manufacturers today are seeking natural alternatives to ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA) in order to ensure their products are compatible with the trend for clean labels. Catherine Bayard, Category Manager for Naturex, said: “In light of the trend for clean labels, it has become clear that a rethink on EDTA is now needed. XtraBlend RN provides the perfect plant-based solution to this dilemma, delivering similar oxidation management to EDTA but with a clean and clear label.”

02 Aug 2016 --- The executive board of SABMiller is to recommend that its shareholders accept AB InBev's improved offer as the so-called “megabrew” deal draws closer. Budweiser owner AB InBev raised its offer for SABMiller last week after a fall in the value of sterling meant the original terms of the offer were less attractive. Sterling has fallen in value by over 10 percent since the EU referendum.  Other companies mentioned are Danone, Bunge, Fonterra and Naturex.
