Yamaha Motor to Mass Produce Astaxanthin

08/07/05 Yamaha Motor has announced that it has developed a system to mass-produce high-quality astaxanthin, an antioxidation element contained in haematococcus and other microalgae.

Astaxanthin has an antiinflammatory property, enhancing immune strength and preventing the skin from aging.

Yamaha has developed the world's first bio reactor system to mass-produce haematococcus using artificial light and fluid control.

Targeting makers of supplements, foods, and cosmetic goods, Yamaha will start marketing astaxanthin in October 2006.
