Wessanen Sells Righi

Righi is specialized in the production of oven-ready frozen products, particularly those typical of the Emilian traditional cuisine. These activities have not led to synergies with our frozen snack activities in the Benelux.

4 Jan 2010 --- The Executive Board of Royal Wessanen nv announces that the business of Righi S.r.L., based in Reggio Emilia, Italy, has been sold to local management and an investment company for an undisclosed amount. The proceeds have been fully paid in cash.

Righi is specialized in the production of oven-ready frozen products, particularly those typical of the Emilian traditional cuisine. These activities have not led to synergies with our frozen snack activities in the Benelux. Righi generated revenues of approximately EUR 7 million over 2008.

Following the divestment of Karl Kemper in Germany and now Righi, Wessanen’s Frozen Foods segment will focus on improving its position in the Benelux market.
