Vitaly-Tea Herbal Tea Makes its Mark on China
Vitaly-TEA is made with four North American sourced herbs from a North American Indian recipe that goes back more than 100 years. The four herbs when combined together have an almost cult like following.
08/06/07 Vitaly-TEA, an herbal tea, announces new distribution shipments to Hong Kong. Formally a tough market for American tea makers to break into, Dave Philpott has found a formula that even the most discerning tea drinkers love.
Philpott's company has managed to do what many professional salespeople thought was impossible. How exactly did he manage to sell a tea product to a country that is known for drinking tea, just not American-made tea?
"The fact is that they can't easily make this type of tea so they have to import it from a supplier. Vitaly-TEA's ready made tea is a huge convenience advantage in the market," Philpott says. But for Hong Kong customers it came at a price. The cost of shipping the heavy glass bottles to Hong Kong doubled the already substantial $22 price of a single bottle. "When we finally got the idea to start putting notes into the orders telling our Hong Kong customers that we were looking for a distributor, one customer jumped at the chance to distribute it himself. It turns out that bulk shipping our product over there is much more affordable than I would have guessed. Our new distributor can lower the price to almost the same price we have here."

"There are a lot of people who seek out alternative remedies for things that affect their personal health. These four herbs, when combined in the formula we have, seem to have a near magical synergy that we are told helps many people."
