Vegetable Packer Chooses Posie Packer
The bags also provide a convenient and reliable place to apply time sensitive information labels (traceability, COOL, pull date, best before date) as well as promotional labels.
Nov 24 2011 --- Len Wright Salads of Preston, Lancashire UK, has chosen the Posie Packer poly bag labeling machine to apply the required labels to the wicketed produce bags used for their hothouse lettuce, curly lettuce and celery. “The key feature that appealed to us” said Ian Torley Managing Director, “was the ability of the machine to apply 2 labels on the same cycle – significantly cutting our labour costs of applying the mandated labels. Although, the machine is imported from Canada, sales and service support are available through LC Machinery, our local dealer for agricultural machinery, NP Seymour, the importing agent and distributor, and from Posie Packer, the manufacturer. At the installation and training session for this machine, I realized that the machine is also user serviceable, should that be required.”
John Vandergrift of Posie Packer said “ I am pleased to see that the machine is being used in the vegetable sector of the British produce industry as well as in the top fruit sector. To meet today's key issues of food safety and traceability, the use of poly bags is increasing. Poly bags are not only are the lowest cost method to package produce, but are also the most environmentally friendly method. The bags also provide a convenient and reliable place to apply time sensitive information labels (traceability, COOL, pull date, best before date) as well as promotional labels. The produce bag labeling machine offers a cost effective accurate alternative to manual application of these labels.”
