Univar and Diastatische Producten Create Malt Distribution Agreement

8 Mar 2010 --- Univar, a leading global chemical distributor, has announced the signing of a distribution agreement with Diastatische Producten, a Dutch manufacturer of quality malt extracts, to develop the growing market for malt extracts in Belgium, Poland and the Middle East. Univar’s strong sales and marketing teams complement chemical producers and create value for customers. The company provides technical expertise in application and recipe development, excellence in logistics support, and outstanding customer service to help its partners grow their business.
 
Leiden-based Diastatische Producten manufactures “all natural” malt products for use in a variety of food and drink products, including bakery goods, breakfast cereals, chocolate bars and instant drinks. Malt extracts are available in liquid and powder forms and provide natural colour, flavour and an improved texture to the final product. Poland is one of Europe's fastest-growing markets for such malt-based products, while Belgium is becoming increasingly important for the bakery and chocolate markets.

Univar will leverage its reputation as a reliable supplier of high quality, natural products to the food sector, when marketing and selling these products in the new territories.
