Three New Varieties of All-Natural Frozen Entrees by Kashi Company
All of the Kashi frozen entrées, including the three new flavor combinations, contain 240-380 calories and offer five to seven grams of fiber and eight to 22 grams of protein.
01/11/06 Kashi Company, the premier natural food products company, today announced that it will expand its line of all-natural frozen entrées by adding three new flavor varieties. Consistent with Kashi’s existing frozen food product offering, the new entrées are all-natural, minimally processed and provide a nutrient-packed and satisfying food experience.
“Consumer response to the introduction of our frozen entrées has been overwhelming,” says Jeff Johnson, Kashi senior brand manager and nutritionist. “We are thrilled that our frozen entrées provide adult women and men with a quick, delicious and nutrient-packed meal option, and that we can now offer even more flavor combinations to choose from.”
Kashi’s newest frozen meal innovations include Pesto Pasta Primavera, Chicken Florentine and Lemongrass Chicken varieties. Each of the new entrées are made with natural ingredients such as large-cut vegetables and lean chicken breast, and include palate-pleasing sauces such as basil pesto, garlic white wine, and lemongrass and coconut. The meals contain no additives, preservatives or anything artificial.
In addition to these unique ingredients, the Chicken Florentine and Lemongrass Chicken entrées also include Kashi’s original pilaf, a distinctive blend of seven whole grains plus sesame, which was the company’s first retail product. The Pesto Pasta Primavera features multigrain penne pasta made with the same seven whole grains used in Kashi’s signature pilaf.
“At Kashi we believe that a well-balanced and nutritious meal does not need to be bland, boring or predictable,” says Johnson. “We choose only the finest, most unique ingredients in order to develop exciting new flavors that provide a complete balance of nutrition. Food lovers will find it hard to believe that these entrées came from their freezer and not from a gourmet chef.”
All of the Kashi frozen entrées, including the three new flavor combinations, contain 240-380 calories and offer five to seven grams of fiber and eight to 22 grams of protein. They also feature essential nutrients such as Vitamin C, Vitamin A and iron. The three new entrées will be offered in addition to the six existing meals which include Southwest Style Chicken, Black Bean Mango, Sweet and Sour Chicken, Lemon Rosemary Chicken, Lime Cilantro Shrimp and Chicken Pasta Pomodoro.
