The Sherwood Press Group Delivers Giant Cupcake Packaging for New Greggs The Bakery Store
The Group delivered the concept through clever use of deliberate light-weighting and forming of the internal elements to form a neat closure that sits flush with the inside faces of the box.
1 Aug 2012 --- Nottingham-based packaging producer The Sherwood Press Group have provided a packaging concept for a giant cupcake sold in the new Greggs The Bakery store in Gosforth.
Greggs challenged The Group to develop a strong, easily loadable carry-pack, blending the best of form and function. Kim Durose, Sherwood Press Packaging Design and Innovation Manager commented: “The real challenge with this project was taking our registered open-sided ‘easy loader’ design, and re-engineering it in a way that was strong enough to form a hybrid carry pack without any of the internal structural elements spoiling the icing on the product inside”.
The Group delivered the concept through clever use of deliberate light-weighting and forming of the internal elements to form a neat closure that sits flush with the inside faces of the box.
Graham Garrod, The Group’s Managing Director commented: “We have been delighted to provide Greggs The Bakery with a high quality, eye-catching bespoke product, that combines the best of innovative construction and appealing design”.
The compact structural design, with Gratterpalm’s stylish graphics printed on the matt finish of the Korsnäs Artisan board, have combined to create a novel, yet easily accessible enclosure for a great product.
