18 Dec 2009 ---Tetra Pak CPS, the UK’s leading provider of quality hygienic process equipment and turnkey systems, has been commissioned by Reaseheath College to supply a multi-million pound state of the art teaching dairy.

The custom built facility at the Cheshire based college will play a major role in a new training programme. Project Eden, a cutting edge training scheme funded by the Northwest Development Agency, will provide higher level qualifications for those in the dairy processing and manufacturing sector.

Renowned for using up-to-the-minute production methods and techniques in World Class Manufacturing, Tetra Pak CPS was the ideal partner for Reaseheath.

Following several months of deliberations Reaseheath and Tetra Pak CPS have worked together and finalised the overall scope of supply for the new teaching facility.

To facilitate teaching students about best available technology in today’s dairy industry the equipment will include a highly automated raw milk offloading, storage and distribution system.

To demonstrate industry best practice while minimising operational costs to Reaseheath College, a low throughput milk separation, automatic inline standardising, partial homogenising and pasteurisation plant will be installed.

A low throughput highly flexible mix, pasteurisation and ageing/incubation process plant for processing various milk products, yogurts, custard and ice cream is being supplied to allow tomorrow’s generation of dairy industry managers to understand the basics of food processing in a proactive learning environment.

Complementing the entire plant’s ergonomic design and demonstrating best practice in energy and waste reduction, will be a fully bespoke skid mounted Cleaning In Place system supplied to meet the latest Supermarket Codes of Practice.

The entire installation due to be operational by April 2010 will include testing of all product lines and 'hands on' training provided by the Tetra Pak CPS team of highly skilled engineers.
