The hinge cap is mainly made of corn-based polylactide resin, which is degraded into carbon dioxide and water by microorganisms and degradative enzymes. As an initial step, Takara Shuzo will use the cap for its proprietary health drink, beginning in October. The move is expected to contribute to a reduction in CO2 emissions.
