Symrise Expands Production Facility for Perfume Oils
The new facilities are two fully automatic dosing systems: a production dosing system for additional raw materials and a 1,000-element dosing system that guarantees a precise mixing of the perfume oils through its maximal level of automation of nearly 90 percent.
Aug 26 2010 --- The global fragrance and flavoring manufacturer Symrise has substantially expanded its fragrance production capacity: the company put two new mixing and dosing facilities for perfume oils into operation in Holzminden. With this expansion, Symrise is investing in the Holzminden site and strengthening an important pillar of its Scent & Care division. The total investment volume is approximately € 5 million.
The new facilities are two fully automatic dosing systems: a production dosing system for additional raw materials and a 1,000-element dosing system that guarantees a precise mixing of the perfume oils through its maximal level of automation of nearly 90 percent. The new systems will also lead to a 25 percent increase in production capacity.
This expansion will make Holzminden the central production site for perfume oils for the entire EAME region (Europe, Africa, Middle East). The company will create approximately 30 new jobs with this investment.
Symrise produces around a third of the worldwide demand for perfume oils in Holzminden. More than 2,000 raw materials are processed here into fragrance compositions for fine fragrances, body care products, detergents, and household cleaners.
“The expansion of our perfume oil production underscores the great importance of the Holzminden site for Symrise,” declared Dr. Heinz-Jürgen Bertram, Chief Executive Officer of Symrise AG. “Through the optimal exploitation of our capacities, we are also implementing our strategy to prosper substantially under our own steam — an important foundation for our long-term business success.”
Achim Daub, President of Scent & Care, added, “With the expansion, we are strengthening our position in the fragrance field. Through the activation of the facilities, which conform to the highest technological standards, we will set new standards in quality and delivery capacity.” In the first six months of 2010, the Scent & Care business division recorded a sales growth of over 20 percent.
