SVZ to Close Production Activity at Polish Karczmiska Plant

18 Aug 2015 --- Fruit and vegetable ingredient supplier, SVZ, has announced that its puree concentrate processing activity in Karczmiska, Poland will close on 31 December 2015. A review of the company’s operational footprint determined that centralising the Polish production at SVZ’s Tomaszów facility would create an optimal platform to invest in upgrading the puree concentrate capability.

The transfer of production between the plants has been planned to provide our customers with a seamless transition and ensure production expertise is safeguarded.

Anouk ter Laak, CEO of SVZ said: “We have not taken the decision to close the production activity in Karczmiska lightly. We regret the effect the closure will have on the staff at Karczmiska and are working closely with outplacement agencies to support affected employees at this time. By consolidating our operations in Tomaszów, we will be able to offer customers a wider range of puree concentrate products and safeguard the future of our business."
