10/12/08 Standard Process introduces Whole Food Fiber, a new high-quality fiber supplement in powder form, with more nutritional value than fiber alone. Whole Food Fiber is a good source of fiber, providing a 1:2.5 ratio of soluble to insoluble fiber. Its six whole food sources each play a vital role in the health of the body’s intestinal tract.
Whole Food Fiber is much more than a fiber supplement. It contains rice bran, beets, carrots, oat bran concentrate, oat fiber, and apple pectin as well as several health-promoting phytonutrients that: protect against cellular damage; provide protection to the liver and colon; support the function of the liver and kidneys; and participate in many important chemical reactions in the body.
Fiber is an essential part of any healthy diet. The American Dietetic Association recognizes that whole foods high in dietary fiber are likely to be more beneficial to health than dietary fiber alone. High-fiber foods increase the feeling of fullness and provide more nutrients with fewer calories. Increasing the intake of insoluble dietary fiber promotes bowel regularity and increasing the intake of soluble fiber supports healthy lipid and glucose levels already in a normal range.
Because Whole Food Fiber is a powder, it can easily be mixed with cold beverages, added to foods like apple sauce or yogurt, or mixed in SP Complete or Whey Pro Complete shakes to increase daily fiber and protein intake.
